Hello September! We’ve had a glorious summer, and now its time to embrace some cooler days and longer, cosier, evenings- we can’t wait! This week we’re looking at the different ways you can still make the most of your trusty SnoozeShade, and why you definitely should too, throughout autumn and beyond. Here are just three reasons why you should be using your SnoozeShade in autumn…
Experts agree that sun protection should be worn between April and October, and we think this is something more parents need to be aware of. The same experts also advise against the use of sunscreen on babies younger than six months, so this in turn makes your SnoozeShade even more essential as we move into a new season.
Yes, its cooler. Yes, the sun isn’t really appearing as much as it was… but don’t let that fool you. Besides late summer/ early autumn heatwaves, the sun’s UV rays are still strong enough to cause damage to sensitive skin, so its really not worth the risk. When you’re out and about with the pram or stroller, just pop the SnoozeShade on. You can use lookout mode until its time for sleep, and then the shade will work to encourage better and longer naps thanks to the darkened environment it creates. Win win!
Protection from the elements
We’ve written before about the many uses of the SnoozeShade after summer has ended, but please bare with us! The SnoozeShade can be used as a protection against light wind and rain during the autumn months! Whilst its not waterproof, the SnoozeShade is able to provide some protection, and is definitely better than nothing if you’re caught short.
During the summer you’ve no doubt been out and about a lot more than during other months, and sometimes this can be a blessing in disguise. All those longer pram walks in glorious weather has got your little one used to sleeping on the go- yay! But now what? Its colder now and nobody else is at the park, plus the kids are back to school… worry not. Just because the summer has finished, there’s no reason why you need to disrupt your hard earned routine!
Perhaps you need to tweak it a little (hello walk to the coffee shop for a nice steaming mug!) but your baby doesn’t need to end up out of sorts! If your little one has got used to a walk at a certain time and you’ve planned this in as nap time, then keep it up! The SnoozeShade will help minimise distractions and act as a sleep cue too. Older babies especially benefit from maintaining a good routine and consistency is key when it comes to better nighttime sleep too- as is plenty of fresh air! Additionally (if you need another reason) getting outdoors at least once a day will help to boost your serotonin levels and elevate your mood too.
We love hearing from you guys, so if you’re using your SnoozeShade this autumn please do get in touch- photos are very welcome!
