Where to put your pram hood
Where you leave your pram or pushchair hood makes a difference to how easy your SnoozeShade is to fit, and to how cool your baby stays on a hot day.
It takes two seconds to get right, and this page shows you how.
The short version
Aim to have your hood about halfway open.
Not folded all the way back. Not pulled all the way forward. Somewhere in the middle.
Which way you move it just depends on where your hood is now.
Which sort of hood have you got?
There are two kinds, and they need opposite things.
A smaller hood on the left, a deeper hood on the right. Both end up in the same place: about halfway open.
A smaller hood
Pull it forward a bit.
This is a hood that stops above your baby's head, even when it's all the way out. Most prams and pushchairs are like this.
Pulling it forward means your SnoozeShade sits lower at the front, which makes it much easier to attach at the bottom.
A deep hood
Push it back a bit.
This is a big one that reaches right down over your baby when it's fully out, past their face and towards their tummy.
Push it back to about halfway on a warm day. There's a good reason, and it's below.
Not sure which one you've got?
Pull your hood all the way forward and look at where the front edge stops.
Stops above your baby's head? That's a smaller hood. Nothing to worry about.
Comes down past their face? That's a deep one. Push it back to about halfway.
Why a deep hood needs pushing back
A deep hood pulled all the way forward puts a thick layer of pram fabric directly over your baby, underneath your SnoozeShade.
Our mesh lets air pass through it. Pram fabric doesn't. So on a warm day, that hood holds the heat in, right where you don't want it.
Push the hood back and the mesh can do its job, with air moving through it properly. It takes two seconds and it makes a real difference on a hot day.
