How does SnoozeShade for Cots work? This portable blackout canopy fits easily over standard-size European cots, larger travel cots and mini cot beds (that take a mattress sized 120cm x 60cm).

Made from air-permeable fabric that lets air flow freely, it safely blocks out 94% of light and blurs distractions, creating a cosy space for your baby or toddler and helping them switch off and go to sleep – even in unfamiliar or bright surroundings. It's a must-have accessory for staying away from home, sleeping in a room without curtains or blinds, or room-sharing with the rest of the family on holiday.

What age is it suitable for? SnoozeShade for Cots is suitable from birth and can be used right up until your child outgrows their cot or travel cot.

Will it help my child sleep? The science behind SnoozeShade for Cots is all about encouraging deep and restful sleep. Our unique fabric creates a comfortingly dark space – even if you have a light on in the room – which boosts melatonin (the sleepy hormone) and helps children drift off to sleep. When they naturally stir between sleep cycles, the distraction-blurring mesh prevents them from latching on to visual stimuli (such as another family member moving in the room) that may cause them to wake up fully. SnoozeShade fabric also offers protection from insects like mosquitoes, making it ideal for the summer months and trips abroad.

What are the side windows for? SnoozeShade for Cots features two single-layer mesh windows (one at either side), complete with adjustable blackout flaps. You can choose to cover both windows completely for maximum darkness, or roll up one or both of the outer flaps and secure them with our baby-safe poppers. This allows you to adjust the light levels inside the cot to suit your child.

What is the top panel for? When fully open, the top panel creates a large opening for lifting your child in and out of their cot. It features a two-way zip that can be closed completely for sleeping and partially opened when you want to check on your little one without letting in too much light and disturbing them. If you want to leave the top panel open, you can fold it into the integrated pocket to keep it safely tucked away.

Is SnoozeShade for Cots easily portable? Yes! It packs down into a handy storage bag (free with every order) and is super lightweight, with no complicated attachments to carry with you. It weighs just 1.1kg and is small enough to pop in your suitcase without taking up much room at all.

Is it machine washable? Of course – it was invented by a mum! All SnoozeShades are machine washable at 30° and can be tumble dried on low heat.

Will it fit my cot? SnoozeShade for Cots fits all standard-size European cots, larger travel cots and mini cot beds. The size of your mattress is the important bit! If your mattress measures up to 120 x 60cm, SnoozeShade for Cots will fit.

If you have a smaller travel cot or one of the triangular-style options with a mattress up to 95 x 65cm, you'll find S noozeShade for Travel Cots a better fit.

How does it attach to my cot? SnoozeShade for Cots is fast and effortless to fit. Here are our top tips:

1. Throw it over your cot or travel cot, ensuring the section with the large top panel is at the top.

2. Pull it down around all sides of the cot frame.

3. Attach the stretchy straps around the feet or wheels of your cot. Make sure the Velcro pads overlap to form a loop.

I do not know how we ever coped without the cot cover. It is a game changer for sharing rooms with babies and toddlers on holiday!!! Our boys always used to wake at the crack of dawn as soon as they saw us on holiday but now they sleep longer and happier :)

Such a great product!

We ordered the snooze shade for our holiday to cover the cot that was going to be provided and I was a bit worried about our busy 18 month old wanting to pull it down and protest but it was opposite, it provided the darkness she needed and she went to sleep without any issues every night. Absolute game-changer!

We have used the larger SnoozeShade for cots for our larger travel cot and it has worked a dream. Initially I worried that my 2 year old would object to being zipped in at bedtime, but I needn't have worried. We left the travel cot with its SnoozeShade cover on out in the livjng room for a week before we first needed to use it and allowed him time to get in with the cover open with his toys, his siblings and even his Mummy! He loved having 'his bed' out and we did up the zip a few times so he could get used to it. We've since used it a couple of times and it has worked a dream. Last weekend we were away and arrived at our accommodation in time for his lunchtime nap but our rooms weren't ready. So we put up his travel cot in a conference room with the SnoozeShade in broad daylight, and he had a nap! We would never have been able to achieve that without the SnoozeShade. (And he also slept through the night as he does at home, without any anxiety, as well as having a 3.5hr nap on the Saturday afternoon...) This is going to be an absolute game-changer as we travel round France this summer. Highly recommend and I just wish we'd got one sooner!!

Didn’t work for us

I had high hopes for this but sadly did not help my difficult sleeper at all. Unfortunately he slept worse with it. Would like to return it if possible.
